I'm a fully qualified secondary school science teacher. I studied to Master degree in biochemistry. Before becoming a teacher I was a senior manager in business for science based companies.

I chose to become a teacher to give back to the next generation and help them up to the first rung of the ladder. I understand industry & business and can give practical advice on career choices. I enjoy teaching students and helping them get the best grades possible. GCSEs in core subjects are important, no matter what they decide to do.

Just as an aside ... a bit about me personally. I play golf, enjoy interesting holidays and am a keen Star Wars & SciFi fan.

Tutoring Experience

I am a secondary science teacher with strong knowledge of the new curriculum (AQA 9-1) combined science and separates - my specialisation is in Biology and Chemistry but also teach Physics. I have taught both year 11 higher & foundation classes in Science with excellent results with a range of pupils. I have an enhanced DBS (CRB) check.

My primary objective is to help students get the grades they deserve.

Tutoring Approach

I am passionate about science and have a very enthusiastic approach. I motivate students to understand the bigger picture so that the detail & learning makes more sense.

I have a strong understanding of the GCSE specification and requirements and can boost comprehension and therefore confidence in areas that they feel most weak.

My main focus will be to concentrate on exam practice and revision technique, both very important to ensure that there are no surprises and students are confident facing both mocks & the actual exams.
