I am a friendly and enthusiastic 4th year medical student at the University of Dundee with over 6 years of tutoring and mentoring experience. I am keen to support students in their studies, helping them work towards their target grades and build confidence in the subject. I achieved all As at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher in Biology, Chemistry and Maths.

Though I have experience tutoring school subjects, I also understand how gruelling the medical application process can be. I would love to guide and support students in their application journey into medicine, with personal statements, interviews and UCAT. I recognise that students are unique in their approaches and experiences, and aim to tailor my services to best suit the student.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching Maths and Chemistry both at National 5 and Higher level on a one-to-one basis since 2018. This has provided me with experience tutoring both online and in-person.

I have recently completed a BMSc in Medical Education at the University of Dundee, in which I have gained an AFHEA teaching qualification for teaching and supporting education in Higher Education. This opportunity has enabled me to learn about and implement different learning techniques to suit a range of students.

As a successful Scottish candidate, I received offers from Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow following interviews. Given my work at a medical education company, I have extensive experience coordinating a nationwide UCAT programme, as well as one-to-one personal statement and interview support.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that every student is unique and requires a personalised tutoring service. As such, I aim to focus lessons on the concerns of the student, adopting flexibility and creativity in the delivery of sessions as needed.

Initially, I start by asking the student about their goals, current concerns and expectations. I will then move on to create an individualised tutoring plan, designing online resources to support their learning.

I am a positive, patients and hard working tutor, keen to help my students reach their full potential. To ensure maximum flexibility, I will be conducting tutoring via Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
