I’m a kind, warm, enthusiastic and organised teacher. I have an Honours degree in Biochemistry and have taught Biology (up to A level), Chemistry (up to GCSE) as well as Key Stage 3 Science for most of my working life. Fifteen years ago I also started teaching Mathematics at the school I was then working at (Birkenhead High School Academy) and since then my teaching time has been shared almost equally between Science and Maths due to there being a demand for Maths teaching plus my confidence teaching the subject (Maths being a necessary component of a Science degree).
I’ve taught in several Wirral schools including Birkenhead High School for Girls, St.Anselm’s College, Birkenhead High School Academy and Wirral Grammar for Girls. I have also taught Maths and Science abroad in Garden International School, Thailand (an amazing opportunity!) for one year before returning to the UK and working for Wirral Home Education Service teaching children with medical needs one to one in their own homes.
I believe that young people work best in an environment which is quietly encouraging, structured and supportive.
