I am a warm, friendly person, who loves teaching and is passionate about helping children gain confidence in their own abilities and learning. I am married and have a 7 year old son. I currently teach part-time, so that I can have quality time with him too! I love being outdoors, most sports (especially snowboarding and swimming) and music.
I initially started my career as a teaching assistant many years ago. I then went on to study at University, completing a four year BA Hons Primary Education degree, in which I obtained a first. I have worked across all year groups from Reception to Year 6 throughout my 17 year teaching career. This year I am working as the main supply teacher for a primary school (as and when needed, across all year groups Reception to Y6) and tutoring privately in the afternoon/evenings. This enables me to constantly have up-to-date experience teaching all primary ages.
I initially started privately tutoring a few children, to help with SATs exams and loved it. I have developed this area of my work over the past 3 years.
I have a warm, friendly and open approach to teaching. I listen to the needs of individuals and tailor lessons to target specific gaps in learning and help build confidence. I love seeing a child grow in confidence and self-esteem, as they make progress and realise they can do it!
