I am a passionate advocate of language learning. I studied French and German to degree level, have lived in both countries and have a wealth of experience as a teacher and learner - I am currently studying for an MA in French language, culture and history. My special interest is French cinema. My son is a professional rugby player so I love watching rugby, walking in the countryside and yoga.
I have many years of teaching experience both in a high performing comprehensive and latterly in a girls’ private school. I was Head of Department for the last 8 years and prepared students for GCSE, A Level and Oxbridge entry. I have an excellent knowledge of exam requirements and a proven track record of getting the best results.
I have taught German to KS3 for the past 13 years.
I am friendly and approachable and believe that young people must enjoy their lessons to be motivated and do well. I have a lots of resources and use a variety of techniques to make learning fun and help embed knowledge. I have a great interest in French literature and culture and use lots of authentic materials in my teaching. I look forward to meeting you.
