I specialize in preparing young children (ages 5-11) for school readiness, focusing on reading, writing, essay writing, comprehension, and listening skills. Over the past 15 years, I have successfully taught 35 children on a one-to-one basis for these purposes. Additionally, I support children needing basic maths skills and offer Year 4 sessions for 11+ preparation and parent consultation for success roadmaps.
With 10 years of classroom experience teaching hundreds of students and 15 years of one-to-one tutoring, I also assist teenagers struggling with English as their second language. For adult learners, I have helped six individuals prepare for their IELTS and ESOL exams and edited two Ph.D. dissertations.
I am dedicated to finding the most effective ways to teach in a digital environment, tailoring my approach to each student’s unique needs and motivations. For younger children, I prefer in-person sessions. My methodology involves assessing and teaching by breaking down learning into manageable chunks. For example, a GCSE student who failed twice passed after just five hours of tutoring with me.
Utilizing insights from occupational therapy, speech therapy, and vision therapy, I address handwriting challenges and help children organize their thoughts on paper. My approach has proven successful, helping children and adults alike gain confidence and improve their skills.
