Very friendly and approachable. Willing to be flexible with times for lessons which is vital for me. Looking forward to learning more Chinese.

Hui-Ju has really increased my confidence with my spoken Chinese! She is absolutely wonderful and I always have fun at my lessons. 100% would recommend!

Hui-ju was great at building up the confidence of my daughter, who was in the middle of her GCSE Mandarin course and was struggling with speaking and listening. She was flexible with times and made the lessons enjoyable for my daughter. We will definitely be asking for more lessons before the end of the course.

Hui-ju (Charlene) has proven to be a great help in increasing my son's proficiency and confidence in spoken Mandarin in preparation for his Advanced Higher in the subject in May.

I have daughters aged 8 and 11 taking mandarin lessons with Hui -ju and they both love her lessons. She makes learning fun and this makes them keen to learn more. My girls are always happy to do any homework she set and genuinely looks forward to their lessons with her. I feel lucky to have found her.

I would highly recommend Charlene as a tutor, she is very friendly and has unlimited amount of patience when it comes to teaching myself (who is no doubt a slow learner!). I have only had lessons for the past 2 months however my Mandarin has improved a lot since I first began which is all thanks to Charlene!

Charlene was a great tutor who helped me improve my Chinese immensely. I managed to get grades that far exceeded my expectations thanks to her classes!

I have just finished my second year of Chinese at the University of Edinburgh - I initially was looking for a tutor to help me with the "Classical Chinese" element of the course and found Charlene to be very helpful with a good understanding of ancient texts. After doing a few lessons of Classical Chinese, I asked Charlene to help me with the other elements of the course - she was a very patient and flexible tutor who helped my pronunciation improve greatly helping me to achieve an A in both modules this year. Added to that, she lives very close to the University and is really accommodating to fit in with your schedule. I will definitely use Charlene as a tutor again upon my return to Edinburgh - I would highly recommend her.

In just under two weeks, I was able to pass my Mandarin for Beginners 1 exam, -which is meant to take a university term- with flying colours. This was with no doubt down to the exceptional tutoring Miss Hui-Jen gave me. She is superb, and I could not have asked for a better tutor. Her sessions are very enjoyable, and I will carry on my studies with her in the future.

My son looks forward and enjoys his twice weekly hourly lessons with Hui-ru. He is getting the hang of understanding spoken mandarin and identifying objects without prompting at age 2 and 3/4 years old. Hui-ru is very good and patient with him and I am happy with his progress.

Hui-Ju is an excellent tutor. She is always on time and makes lessons that are diverse and tailored to each tutee's level. She is very easy to talk too and encourages and supports each tutees needs wether it be shyness of speaking, reading, writing or listening; Hui-Ju is very good at building these foundations. I would confidently say that Hui-Ju is an outstanding tutor for students of any level, beginner, intermediate or those that are advanced; Hui-Ju can help improve skills and take them to a new level with confidence and clarity. What stands out the most about her lessons - I always look forward to them.
