I am an enthusiastic, experienced and child-centered, UK qualified Primary School Teacher. I currently work for a large network of British Overseas Schools in Dubai. I have gained a wealth of experience teaching EAL students and learning about the international school systems. I have built resilience, increased my self-confidence and also my self-esteem while being away from home for 6 months at a time. Prior to this I worked for Royal Caribbean International as a Youth Staff on a cruise ship holding over 3500 guests. I have always had a love for travel, and through working internationally I have been able to fulfil this passion. I have completed a three-year BA Honors Degree in Primary Education aged 3-11 years with Qualified Teacher Status, and received outstanding in all areas of the teaching standards.

Tutoring Experience

I am currently employed as a Primary School Teacher at a large network of international schools in Dubai. I have gained a wealth of experience teaching EAL students and learning about the international school systems. I have built resilience, increased my self-confidence and also my self-esteem while being away from home for 6 months at a time. Over the last five years I have been prepared to be an outstanding Primary Classroom Practitioner. My specialisms include Science and Religious Studies, where I have completed research into the most effective methods of teaching science and conducted a project working alongside a non-faith school to create a range of resources and lesson plans to help the in the teaching of Religious Education in the EYFS. At university I was graded 'outstanding in all areas of the teaching standards.'

Tutoring Approach

I offer a bespoke program of COVID Catch-up in the core areas of the primary curriculum. I will spend the first three sessions getting to know your child, assessing their understanding and making a very personalised plan for the next sessions. I will bring your child up to the expected standards or push them way above the targets. I also offer some children the opportunity to work with me on exam preparation, such as entrance exams, GL assessments allowing your child to practice and fully understand how to complete the tests. My availability is limited as I only take on a few new children each term. My ultimate aim and goals is for your child to develop all of their potential and to work alongside me as their friendly but focused tutor/ teacher.

Education is a vital component to an individual’s life, and as a tutor I thrive knowing I am a part of the journey through this complex process. I appreciate teaching is challenging, but it is as equally fulfilling and rewarding. I believe that every child matters, and through learning by doing, using innovative and creative approaches I will establish a safe and stimulating environment which sustains pupils’ interest in learning.
