I am an experienced Primary School and Prep School teacher and tutor maths and English for Key Stage One or Two. My specialist area is KS2 maths. I am enthusiastic, patient and organised. My teaching style adapts to each child and I believe it is essential to build a relationship with children to create a productive learning environment.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a class teacher for nine years and have also tutored for the last 4 years. I have worked in multiple schools and in every year group, although I am most experience in upper key stage two (years 3-6). I have experience working with children with varying needs and will always adapt my teaching to respond to the needs of the child.

Tutoring Approach

It is vital that children enjoy learning, so I adapt my teaching to fit their interests to ensure they make good progress. A personable approach is necessary for successful learning and helps to build confidence. During a tutor session, I would focus on the key gaps in learning which would be established through prior assessment. From there, lessons would be tailored to the child's needs with and requests from parents included.
