I am a dedicated and passionate Biology tutor with a PhD in Developmental Biology; I have been teaching for 7+ years. I've supported students from GCSE up to university level with their biology subject area. . I have committed a lot of my life to education both as a student but also now as a Lecturer in Bioscience, educating the next generation of scientists. In my current role, I bring a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to my teaching, making complex biological concepts accessible and engaging for all students. My approach to education is deeply rooted in fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a profound appreciation for the application and relevance of science. Having a PhD means that I have the ability to answer questions outside the scope of the curriculum, and explain what to expect from each topic as the student progresses through the years. I also have a AFHEA teaching qualification with Advance HE.
I am also mindful that every student has their own learning style and need, so happy to adapt my teaching approach to match each student. I do try to keep tutoring lessons dynamic and interesting as I believe learning should be fun and engaging whilst informative and scientifically accurate. Most importantly, I try my absolute best to support my students in reaching their potential and building their confidence in the subject area.
My fees are reflective of my experience and knowledge in the subject - over the years my teaching has evolved and I have taken the time to study and apply the most effective teaching methods to help students understand and become confident in biology.
Lecturer in Biosciences: Brunel University 2021 - present.
I teach physiology and statistical methods at Brunel. I am also the module lead of Reproduction, Growth and Ageing Module. Over the years I have also taught teaching sessions related to genetics and cell biology.
I employ a unique tutoring approach that blends learning with interactive, real-world applications. Recognising that each student has a distinct learning style and pace, I customise my lessons to cater to individual needs, ensuring that complex biological concepts are understood thoroughly and retained effectively. Where necessary I provide checkpoint feedback and set targets to promote independent learning.
Once you pay the website a small fee to purchase my contact details please get in touch straight away so that we can arrange an introductory lesson. The first 15 minutes of the first lesson is free as it is simply an opportunity for me to introduce myself and learn the student's strengths and weaknesses in order to design a lesson plan.
