I am passionate about helping students unlock their full potential. With a strong background in A Level business and Economics, I specialise in making complex topics clear and manageable. Whether my students are aiming to boost their grades, build confidence, or prepare for exams, I offer personalised support tailored to their goals and learning style. My approach is friendly, structured, and focused on results because I believe every student can succeed with the right guidance.
Over the past four years, I have developed a broad range of experience spanning OCR and Edexcel, delivering Business and Economics to A Level and Foundation Diploma students. During this time, I have also been a tutor and provided a range of pastoral support and guidance, including day-to-day academic focus and career pathway planning, as well as delivering revision workshops for second-year students.
Starting this year, I will also be examining Edexcel A Level Economics, which will further develop my knowledge and insight.
Teaching wasn't my first career. For over 20 years, I worked in a wider range of public and private sector roles, including aerospace, engineering, creative, fitness and the charitable sectors, working in mid and senior-level management roles with a focus on marketing, business development, project management and HR.
I find this to be a real positive for students when discussing complex topics or breaking down the relevancy and application of mathematical concepts like investment appraisal methods, for example, because I can help students understand how these concepts apply in the 'real world'.
My teaching approach can be summarised as:
> Very friendly, outgoing, flexible and relaxed.
> Student-led with a focus on encouraging a growth mindset and a fully personalised tutoring approach.
> Reliable and dependable.
> Revision materials, planning documents, etc, all provided. Making the best use of students' own school or college resources, as well as my own and accessing past papers and examiners' reports.
