Hi I'm Chris! I am a qualified doctor and am due to start work in July 2022. I completed by pre-clinical years at the University of St. Andrews, clinical years at the University of Edinburgh and achieved First Class Honours in Medical Science (BSc). I received 3A*s in A Levels and 10A*s in GCSEs. I also received offers from all medical schools I applied for (Imperial, Birmingham, Bristol, St. Andrews) I am very keen to teach Maths, Chemistry or Biology at A level or GCSE level. Furthermore, I am happy to help with medical admissions exams, medical interviews or pre-clinical medicine.
I started tutoring whilst at school studying for my A Levels. I regularly helped GCSE chemistry, biology and maths students who were struggling with their studies. At medical school, I continue to tutor maths in my spare time which I thoroughly enjoy.
At medical school I have realised that the skills required to become a good doctor overlap with the attributes of an educator: to provide a non-judgemental environment to allow people to achieve good outcomes. I also have learnt that whilst having a strong core knowledge of a subject is important, how a student applies this to exam questions is a vital part of academic success especially with science subjects. My lessons plans are very flexible. If there are particular topics a student is struggling on I will focus on that. Alternatively if the problem may be the subject as a whole, I start from the beginning and work forward. I am committed to providing every student with concise and key exam tips to achieve top grades.
