Hi -I am Chris, I am a highly experienced teacher of A level Chemistry having worked for 40 consecutive years in Ofsted rated outstanding colleges across the North West of England. I am passionate about my subject and equally passionate about teaching and learning and improving students abilities to learn, understand, and prepare for assessment.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught A level Chemistry for AQA and OCR (syllabus A and B) for 40 years. I have also taught Biology to A level for 20 years, and also Forensic Science to Foundation Degree level. During this time I have also been Head of Sixth Form, Head of Science, and Head of Chemistry departments in five highly respected outstanding colleges.

Tutoring Approach

Apart from vast experience of teaching A level Chemistry, I also produce and use excellent resources and learning materials which follow modern approaches to learning and memory including retrieval practice and "Great Teaching" principles such as scaffolding and use of algorithms for complex operations and content in chemistry. I also have huge experience of project mentoring and supporting learners with practical knowledge and skills.
