I am an experienced primary school teacher currently working part time in a mainstream primary school following the birth of my son. I am proud the roles I have held in school including science coordinator and STEM team.

I am extremely enthusiastic about creating ways for children to access the curriculum. Fostering a sense of independence and love of learning is vital in nurturing autonomous individuals and I consider these to be a high priority when working with children.

Prior to my degree in Education, I developed a managerial career within which I gained skills and techniques which transfer in to the classroom, such as delegation, people management, communication, and organisational skills. However, I realised that this career was not for me – teaching is where my heart lies. As such, I embarked upon my degree in Education, where I gained a first class honours degree.

Tutoring Experience

7 years primary teaching experience across key stage 1 & 2 (primary ages 4-11)
Tutoring 1 2 1 with a range of ages and abilities including EYFS and 11+ exam preparation.

Tutoring Approach

Meeting a childs indidviual needs and presenting key learning concepts so that they are accessible to the leaner. I have experience working with SEN, EAL and SEMH. I use a wide range of physical and digital online resources to create a range of engaging lessons. Children can sometimes be reluctant to engage in additional work outside the classroom, I take time to get to know the child to include their interests anyway I can. If all else fails I know a wide range of excellent child friendly jokes!
