I am a semi-retired English teacher & I like to keep busy, pursuing my hobbies & doing some private tutoring. I particularly enjoy teaching reading & writing skills to children in Years 1 - 6, as well as teaching adults English as an additional language.

Tutoring Experience

Throughout most of my teaching career I worked with adults & children whose first language was not English & I taught all levels, from beginners through to advanced. I subscribe to the annual update service for my DBS so it is always valid & because I left school teaching several years ago, I cannot provide any recent references.

Tutoring Approach

I like to get to know my pupils & use their particular interests & talents to help them develop their skills in English. Learning should be fun so I try to incorporate games, puzzles & a wide variety of activities in my lessons.
