Hi, I'm Christine. I'm a highly experienced Primary School teacher, having taught in York and North Yorkshire schools for over 27 years. I have also lived in Spain and taught in an international school for a time. I am located in central York so I'm flexible about where I'm able to travel to. I'm currently available for work both during the day for home educated children and evenings after school. Please feel free to message me to discuss what you need, I'm very flexible.
I have been a Primary school teacher for over 27 years, mainly in York and North Yorkshire. I have held full and part time positions in Key Stage one and lower Key Stage two, and also been an intervention and PPA teacher covering every year group including Foundation Stage. I have extensive experience and training in teaching early reading and phonics. I have been a SEN Co-ordinator, and also led MFL and Art in school. I currently do some supply teaching, some exam invigilating and also work on projects for the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER). alongside tutoring. I love teaching!
I have a calm and positive approach to teaching, and am able to quickly assess what each child needs in terms of learning. I'm aware that each child has a different way of learning and they each have their own personality and needs. I enjoy teaching them new skills to give them confidence in their abilities and move them forwards. I'm a very creative person and incorporate this into my approach where I can.
