Christine has been so helpful for my German. It is great to chat to her in German without any feeling of judgement and she always corrects me on my grammar errors. I would like to say an enormous thank you to Christine for her wonderful teaching. Her kind and open teaching style gave my daughter a new love of the language as well as a new confidence that meant she genuinely enjoyed taking her GCSE German. Christine was also extremely accommodating and found time to squeeze in extra lessons during holidays.
Unfortunately it won't be possible for our daughter to take German A-Level but we hope she can continue taking lessons with Christine so she might gain a degree of fluency that she can use in the years to come. Thank you, Christine!

Christine is a very friendly and professional person. She was very quick to reply to my emails regarding lessons for my daughter. She has bought the confidence back in my daughter for her German, which went after her school teacher went on Maternity leave and the replacement was not providing what my daughter needed to prepare for tests and ultimately her GCSE's. Unfortunately i was unhappy with christine. She told me to pay the website registration fee so that she could phone me but when i did she wrote to me saying i should find another tutor and did not call until five hours later when she knew i had an urgent assignment

We have never talked or met; there was never any tutoring.

You requested a tutor (to which I agreed), but it turned out you didn't want any tutoring.

You misunderstood my correspondence: I requested further information about what you actually wanted and, as you had tried to post your phone number and wanted me to call you, I informed you that I was unable to call until you paid the website fee. You proceeded to pay the website fee and got upset at me for not doing a one-off assessment for you on the spot (to which I had not agreed at any point - I was busy driving all afternoon). Given the awkward situation, I offered to help as best as I could but you were no longer interested.

There's a German saying that springs to mind: Lieber ein Ende mit Schrecken als ein Schrecken ohne Ende!

She has been generous with her time and she clearly understands what is needed for this subject and manages to encourage and motivate my teenage daughter to work towards what she needs to be. She was an excellent tutor in every way; not only was she very knowledgeable and thorough, but just as importantly she was friendly, supportive and patient. She is very patient and Lizzie especially likes Christine not only going with what is grammatically correct but explaining how Germans would normally phrase things. Because of Covid they are working via Skype, this is working fine

My son is in Year 10, doing GCSE German. He started with Christine since end-Nov 2019 and has had a couple of lessons. He enjoys his German lessons with her and feels that he learns a lot from her. My son is less confident with speaking and they have been doing a lot of that and she has been getting him up to speed with his vocabulary. She is a dedicated tutor and she gives her best to make sure that he improves.

I was looking for a German tutor for my twin 13 year old boys at short notice, because of a relocation to a German-speaking country. Speaking skills were the most important which we discussed with Christine before the first lesson and she tailored the lessons to this request. She is very friendly, the boys are enjoying the classes and they think it will be useful for them after the move. They also get homeworks to practice for the next lessons, which I think is important, as repetition helps committing studies into long-term memory.

Update: both of them returned to me a couple of years later for GCSE preparations whilst they were being homeschooled in the UK; I was able to act as their assessor during COVID lockdown and they both achieved grade 9 - well done!! Finally, during A-levels (not German), one of the boys prepared with me for the C1 Goethe Institute exam, which he passed with flying colours, to enable him to study in a German-speaking country. Congratulations again and wishing you all the very best for the future!

The lessons are very informal and Christine is very friendly and she has supplied me with books and some cd’s to help me.
