I'm a friendly, approachable, recently retired lecturer. After retiring,I found I missed education and three months later started working in an FE college for the Student Support Team.
I have a Bsc degree in Social Science from the Open University and a Post Graduate Teaching Certificate, so I understand only too well how much of a challenge balancing studying with a busy life can be!
My specialist areas are Applied Psychology and Sociology and I have completed a Professional Development Award in Facilitating Mindfulness With Young People and a Teaching Certificate in 'Mindfulness for Life.' I am happy to share this valuable skill with my tutees together with tutoring the required subjects.
I retired from college at the end of 2022 and I am looking forward to having more time for research, tutoring and maybe a little relaxing!
I have over 20 years experience in Scottish Further Education as a Lecturer in Social Science, teaching a wide range of students and levels, from National four through to degree level. I am also experienced in supporting individual students. Since Covid I have been working with students on line which I and my tutees have found to be very sucessfull.
Student centred, supportive, patient, motivating and passionate. Will combine study skills with the subject being tutored.
