I am a passionate teacher who tries to teach a love of learning in everything I do.

I enjoy working with young people and seeing them develop as people as well as fulfilling their academic potential.

Tutoring Experience

I am into my fourth year of teaching within an outstanding-rated Mathematics department. I have had an exceptional department to learn from, including a 'Mastery specialist', who have taught me the importance of breaking down mathematical concepts into their core components and never over-whelming the learning with too much information.

We are one of the top Maths departments in Bristol (John Cabot Academy - Progress 8 +0.6) and my latest cohort gained the highest ever results, for their level, in over 15 years of the school.

Tutoring Approach

I try to teach from a stand-point of deep understanding, training my pupils to construct knowledge rather than memorise. Mathematics is a wonderfully creative subject that can induce negative emotions when approached the wrong way. My teaching is orientated towards pushing them academically through exposing the deep-structure behind the mathematics, whilst focusing on one-new-skill at a time.
