I am a Teacher of Mathematics in a local secondary school. I am a very passionate professional who thoroughly enjoys the teaching of Mathematics. I work extremely hard to ensure that all children I teach, are enabled to access maths to the best of their ability. All ages are welcome for the teaching of Mathematics GCSE.
I have worked in education for my whole working career in a variety of different settings. I currently work as a Teacher of Mathematics in a mainstream secondary school. I have also worked in Social, Emotional, Mental Health and Behavioural settings therefore I have a wide range of experience with different types of learning difficulties. I have tutored many students over the past 10 years particularly students that are keen to ensure a pass at GCSE with great successes.
My approach to teaching follows a process of teaching for understanding. I always plan my teaching to break topics down into sections so that students can build from the basic principles. Then when they have successfully mastered each section, build in the next area of need. This is a successful way of ensuring students are not overloaded with cognitive capacity and can access all areas of the maths presented. I am a very reflective practitioner and I always consider the best way to deliver mathematics to different ages and abilities. I do all I can to accommodate any misconceptions or feelings towards the learning of Maths.
