I am an experienced and successful teacher of Psychology with years of experience in both GCSE and A-level Psychology with the AQA exam board. I currently work at an independent school in the North of England. My results are exceptional, with all students I’ve taught or tutoring achieving on or above their target grade. I’m an experienced examined, a Team Leader on paper 1 and examiner on Paper 3.
My Psychology degree is from Lancaster, a top 10 university, with a 2:1. I completed my Teacher Training at Manchester Metropolitan University with a Distinction. One of my two tutors is a Senior Examiner for AQA Psychology and thus I was provided with crucial training specific to AQA. I engage in continuous CPD through courses and other online training and consider myself to be an expert in the Psychology specifications provided by AQA.
For option topics in Year 2, I have experience of teaching Gender, Cognition and Development, Schizophrenia, Forensics and Aggression, and can provide support for the other topics as well.
Tutoring is tailored to each individual and reflects the areas in which they need support. Commonly this involves Research Methods support, essay writing techniques and reviewing areas of the specification that the individual is finding more challenging. I also have experience of being the sole tutor for students who are taking their exams as external candidates, with one student achieving an A*. I can provide additional materials that the student may require and am also available in between tutoring sessions.
