Hello, I am a French and Spanish secondary school teacher, currently teaching across all year groups, i.e from year 7 to GCSE and through to A level.
Since completing my teacher training (PGCE) seven years ago, I’ve been working at a north London state school. This has given me hands on experience of a very wide range of abilities. Additionally, it means I am fully up to date with the new GCSE specification and requirements, as well as A level.
As well as all the day to day experiences I’ve gained in my current role as a classroom teacher, I have tutored dozens of students for GCSE, as well as IGCSE and A-level.
From my time in the classroom I have seen that sometimes what is needed to help progress is some one to one time, and I think this is where tutoring can make a real difference. I always start by identifying the student's needs and tailoring my lessons to their individual requirements.
In the case of GCSE and A level, exam technique can be as important as subject knowledge so I always go over useful strategies to avoid common pitfalls, which I’ve found can be very important for building a student’s confidence.
