Cleo

Hi! My name is Cleo, and I'm passionate about helping students achieve their best while making learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience. I tutor remotely and in person in North London.

I bring over three years of tutoring experience, supporting children aged 8-18 at top schools to succeed. I have a First-Class BA degree in History from the University of Oxford and achieved 4 A*s at A-level.

Currently, I'm pursuing a Master's Law Conversion Course, which gives me a personal perspective on navigating academic challenges and studying, which I can share with my students.

Tutoring Experience

I have over three years of tutoring experience working with top international agencies and students from the best schools in the UK, including Cheltenham Ladies' College, Harrow and Wycombe Abbey. My students range from eight to eighteen years old, and I have helped students prepare for the 11+, GCSEs, A-Levels and university applications.

I spent a year teaching English at a secondary school in Madrid. I am confident in delivering lessons in person and skilled at teaching English as a second language.

Tutoring Approach

I tailor my approach to each student, recognising that every learner is unique. I look forward to working with parents and students to understand their goals and identify which methods will best support their success.

For History and English tutoring, I especially focus on enhancing students' analytical and essay-writing skills, as these are often key to achieving top grades. My sessions focus on:
- Preparing revision notes for students that contain the analysis and "second-order concepts" that the exam boards look for.
- Practising exam questions to build confidence and familiarity with question styles.
- Using exemplars, essay plans and question-answer 'templates' to ensure students know how to hit the mark scheme.

I also have experience working with students with dyslexia, adapting my teaching style to meet their needs.

Additionally, I have worked with primary school students and can create fun and engaging sessions that foster a love for learning.
