I have experience working in the Senco department and have worked with 100s of students who are neurodiverse. As a neurodiverse Individual I am fully aware of the obstacles and extra challenges that we face when dealing with information and the social world. This has allowed me to help students progress at a greater speed and grow with confidence. My students need to feel listened too and heard whether neurodiverse or neurptypical. They will always have this with me because I am not just their tutor, but their guide and constant support as they take on the challenges that learning new skills and concepts naturally places on them . I aim to work in a way that maximises their strengths and free up their capacity to achieve more as efficiently as possible. This can only happen once we have built a rapport and I have understood their needs and how they feel they work best.
I am a full time tutor with two decades of classroom experience. Having managed Social Science departments in schools and colleges I have gained insight and experience into raising student attainment in my subjects.
I very much enjoy the wide array of fields within psychology and over recent years I have found myself exploring other avenues of interest such as sport and exercise and the psychology of motivation and performance enhancement within this area. I found the exercise allowed me to feel calmer and regulate myself better. This led me further into wanting to share this with others and over several years of training and studying I became a certified personal trainer with specialisms in sports psychology, Diet and Nutrition, MMA conditioning, corrective exercise and performance enhancement.
I have taught in a variety of schools over the years, both state and private, alongside supporting schools and their departments with strategies for improving teaching and learning. Alongside this I am a Senior Examiner for Three Exam Boards.
