Hi, I have worked in education for 32 years both as a Mathematics teacher, teacher of ASN and Guidance teacher. I currently work in a Scottish High School as a Head of House. I have a Masters in Education and PG Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring which has great positive impact on learning.
I work hard to help pupils overcome mathematical anxieties and help them develop confidence. I enjoy seeing pupils develop increased mathematical ability as the year progresses.
In addition, I can help your child prepare their University application by advising and coaching them on their personal statement.
I hold a full PVG Disclosure certificate.
I work with pupils through all ability ranges in a secondary school. I have taught all ranges of mathematics covered in the maths curriculum. I am able to develop confidence in reluctant learners and help them to enjoy success.
I believe that tutoring works best when time is taken to assess both the confidence level and the ability level of the pupil. I also believe that pupils learn better when enjoying and having some fun with the subject. My approach may seem informal but it helps break down barriers to learning and encourage enthusiasm and confidence.
I believe that tutees work exceptionally well online and it helps build good working skills. Online sessions are £35 per hour.
