I am a qualified, experienced teacher and have been teaching English language and literature privately since retirement. I have very good exam results and my students enjoy their lessons. I have taught 11 plus, Key stage 3, GCSE and A level. Recently I have seen students who need a grade 4 at GCSE and who have dyslexia. I have started to take basic courses with the BDA to be able to help them.
I started off as a primary school teacher in Hackney. I then specialised in teaching English as a second language in schools. I took a Masters degree in literacy development and went on to teach in my local university until retirement. Since retiring I have been tutoring privately and also taken a Masters degree in Creative Writing at Herts university.
I aim to make students feel relaxed, enjoy lessons, and to give them confidence. They always say they feel comfortable in my home or online. I alway identify their problems and plan lessons accordingly.
