I am an English literature lecturer (in early retirement) who set up my tutoring business Removed providing English tuition, coaching and revision for students who wish to excel.

Tutoring Experience

I have 30+ years of teaching experience at secondary and higher education level. I have coached students for common entrance, 13+ and 16+ exams, scholarships exams in the independent secondary sector, for GCSE, IGCSE, A level and IB. I have advised on higher university / academic essay writing and dissertations.

Tutoring Approach

I help students develop both knowledge and skills. The goal is to create and maintain patterns of response behaviour according to the type of question that will be examined. Put simply, I aim to help students make sure that, when they sit their exams, their mental drawer marked “English” contains all the tools and materials to create an amazing response, and that tools and materials are well organised in a series of smaller boxes ready to lift and use with confidence for each particular paper and question.
I guide and support students each step of their journey, through consolidation and revision, to help them reach their full potential and become the very best attainers. Removed
