I am a qualified UK teacher with ten years experience in primary teaching and language teaching. I provide online tuition to children and young people, for academic progress, exam preparation or pleasure. I am passionate about language learning and speak French fluently. I write for children in both English and French and love exploring the differences in nuances between the two languages.
I have worked in education for over twenty years in many creative roles, for the last ten years I have taught the full curriculum across Key Stage 2 (ages 6 - 11). In school leadership, I developed creative and innovative approaches to language learning. I established the school's online learning programme following schools closures. I now tutor children, young people and adults with with a range of language learning objectives.
Every learner is an individual with their own learning needs and goals; my teaching is responsive to this, I devise programmes that are bespoke to pupil motivations and interests, ensuring personal progress and enjoyment. My experience in classroom teaching has equipped me to be flexible within sessions, I listen and adapt learning tasks to match student needs. It takes courage to pronounce new sounds or perfect an accent, I help tutees feel relaxed and uninhibited, so that language learning is fun, effective and memorable.
