I'm a 35 year-old Senior Engineer working in the renewables industry for the last ten years. I graduated with distinction in MEng Electro-Mechanical Engineering from Strathclyde University in 2015 and have been working in industry since that time.

I have a great passion for learning and I find that through teaching one can get a unique buzz, from helping others to see clearly what they could not before. I am adept at English, Maths, Physics, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and able to tutor them to Univesity standard, however I am highly proficient in Geography and Geology as well, and would be able to tutor either of these subjects to an A-Level standard.

I have been tutoring in various different forums for over 12 years across a range of different subjects and with a wide variety of students, young and old, technical and otherwise at multiple different levels.

Tutoring Approach

I take a very dynamic approach to tutoring, time allowing I beleive the pace of learning should be dictated by the tutee, so long as they are keen to learn the subject. I believe one of the best approaches to take is to leave interactive material which will 'teach' or give an overview of a subject, and then do the actual exercises when I am there, in this way the tutee can listen and/or watch the lesson as many times as possible, without feeling silly or like they are wasting my time, then if and when they get stuck on problems in exercises I am right there to help them, to explain the concepts involved and the best approach to take to solving the particular problem. I am however flexible with my approach, and will adapt and tailor each learning program for each tutee, in order to maximise the effectiveness of the time I spend with the tutee and make the pace of learning as quick as the tutee is comfortable with.
