OFSTED rated Outstanding teacher. Head of Science. 14 years teaching experience at all levels.
I became a data analyst after completing my Masters degree in Geoscience in 2008 . After working in analysis for one year I into moved into the field of special educational needs. I worked with students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities before training to be a secondary science teacher, qualifying in 2011. Since then I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching at both KS3 and KS4 level as I have had the opportunity to inspire my students with the passion that I have for Science.
I have been teaching in mainstream education for over 7 years having previously supported students with special educational needs, in both a college and residential setting.
I have taught science to a range of abilities and ages at KS3 and KS4 level.
Due to my success as a teacher I am now Head of Science. I co ordinate the delivery of the KS4 and KS3 curriculum to a very successful department in one of the biggest schools in Birmingham and Dudley.
I am a dedicated teacher who has built a reputation for delivering good results from students with typically poor attainment. Using interactive teaching and exam techniques I can ensure that my students are able to answer all questions from the syllabus successfully.
Recently I have had several successes, most notably tutoring one student from a 5-5 to a 8-7, one student from 6-5 to a 7-7 and another student from a 1-1 to a 5-5.
I aim to identify my students preferred method of learning and work closely with them in a relaxed yet focussed setting, thus allowing them to approach their general study and examinations with confidence.
