I am 52 years old and have worked in a primary school for the last thirteen years. I am extremely passionate about education and believe it is my role as an educator to enhance every opportunity for any child to learn and to reach their full potential. I encourage, support and enable every child I teach to be the best they can be through fun, rewarding and exciting lessons.
I have two children who are 25 and 21. My son is studying a PhD in English Literature at The University of Leeds. My daughter is studying a degree in Fashion Communication at London South Bank University. I am a very proud dad.
I am currently teaching Year 6 and have a vast amount of experience of specialist revision and SATs knowledge having taught Year 6 for seven years. I have worked across both Key Stage 1 and 2 and taught Year 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6. I am the Maths Lead for my school and regularly attend mathematics seminars to ensure I am always continuing my professional development. I attend weekly meetings with the senior leadership team to discuss children's attainment and progress.
I have a BA Hons degree in Education and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Primary 5 - 11 years.
Throughout my career I have always been an enthusiastic and supportive teacher. I believe it is imperative to identify existing knowledge and skills in order to build on these. Furthermore, it is paramount to identify any misconceptions and any barriers to learning, and also what is required to enhance learning throughout all subjects. My experience working across all primary key stages enables me to give children the best opportunities available, ensuring excellent progress and attainment.
