Successful and passionate teacher of History at both GCSE and A-Level, working in an outstanding school in the North of England. I enjoy working with students of all ages and have in depth knowledge of the GCSE specifications, exam boards and how to help students independently achieve their potential in History.
I am an examiner for AQA and have taught GCSE for six years with both Edexcel and AQA. I also teach History at A-Level with AQA. Below are a list of the GCSE modules I have specialised in:
- Weimar and Nazi Germany (1890-1945)
- Conflict and Tension.(1918-1939) League of Nations and road to WW2.
- Conflict and Tension in Asia (1950-1975) Korea and Vietnam Wars
- Elizabethan England (1568-1603)
- Health and the People (1000-present day)
- Power and the People (1170-present day)
- Crime and Punishment (1000-present)
- Anglo-Saxon and Norman England (1066-1087)
- American West (1836-1895)
I have a calm and patient approach to teaching that seeks to build student's confidence. Successful students should have a deep understanding of History and the narratives and themes that run through each topic. My students are also taught how to structure their exam questions so they have the skills to independently achieve success. I will also work with students to understand the gaps in their knowledge and how we can cater the sessions to prepare them for their exams.
