I am a Finance Professional with BA (Hons) in Philosophy with Maths.
I have tutored Maths to a wide variety of learners for many years with much success.
I am once again available for a limited number of students for the academic year 25/26, having been providing lessons via word of mouth recommendations these last few years.
I have much and varied experience of tutoring maths. I have great levels of success in preparing students for their GCSE, whether in helping students achieve the all-important C grade (or Grade 4 in the new format exams), of if they are strong maths students, pushing for an A* or A grade (Grades 7,8,9). I am a patient tutor and can tailor my explanations to the relevant level for the student. I have also successfully taught trainee primary school teachers for their compulsory numeracy QTS test and adult learners in preparation for professional finance qualifications. In addition, I have several years classroom experience as a teacher of English as a foreign Language.
I take a holistic approach to teaching my students, in that I try to engender an understanding of the syllabus as a whole. I try to encourage creativity of thought when approaching problem-solving. My approach will vary depending on the requirements of the student. For example, for students who may have some "maths-phobia", I build up their confidence by revisiting a level of maths they are comfortable with, and help develop their maths skills from this solid platform.
