I am a fully qualified Geography teacher, teaching within Dundee council. I studied my MA Geography degree at the University of Dundee, going on to study my PGDE at Strathclyde University.

Geography has always been a subject in which I have been passionate about, and I believe this strongly translates into my teaching practice.

I am looking to assist pupils as they prepare for the up and coming exam diet with either National 5 or Higher Geography.

Tutoring Experience

I have 8 years experience of teaching Geography at a secondary level. This includes Broad General Education in S1 - S3 and national 4/5 as well as Higher Geography. I have also taught National 5 Travel and Tourism.

As well as this I have been fortunate to gain experience as a raising attainment mentor. This involved me working with pupils on an individual basis looking at revision techniques that work for them as well as improving pupils confidence. There has been a positive correlation between pupils I have mentored and their exam results.

Tutoring Approach

Throughout my teaching career I have had to adapt my lessons in order to make sure that all pupils have access to the curriculum. This has allowed me to develop a wide range of teaching strategies.

I will work with pupils to establish key areas that they feel they need to work on whether this be content knowledge, understanding command words of the exam or developing their answering technique.

I am patient, friendly, positive and encouraging when working with pupils to develop their confidence in Geography.
