Online Maths Tuition

Hello! I’m an enthusiastic online maths tutor with a passion for both mathematics and teaching. I firmly believe that everyone can enjoy and succeed in maths with the right guidance. My background uniquely positions me to help KS3 and GCSE students excel – I combine deep subject knowledge with practical teaching experience. My main objective is to make maths accessible and engaging for every student. I love finding creative ways to explain concepts, turning “I don’t get it” moments into “aha!” moments. In short, I’m here to boost confidence, inspire curiosity, and get students to be more engaged with Maths

Tutoring Experience

I hold a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics with Statistics. This rigorous academic training covered a wide range of advanced topics, giving me a strong foundation in both pure and applied maths. During my degree, I completed challenging modules such as:

Fundamental Calculus – mastering the principles of differentiation and integration

Linear Algebra – understanding vector spaces and matrices
Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) – solving complex equations used in physics and engineering

Statistical Methods – learning to collect, analyze, and draw conclusions from data

Beyond academics, I have valuable teaching experience that has honed my communication skills. I serve as a Senior Shotokan Karate instructor and have worked as a private lesson assistant. Teaching karate to kids and teens may seem unrelated to maths, but it’s been incredibly useful – it taught me patience, step-by-step instruction, and how to adapt to each student’s learning pace. In martial arts, “karate requires patience, understanding, and effective communication, especially with children”
, and I bring that same mindset to tutoring. Whether I’m explaining a karate kata or a maths equation, I focus on clear communication and positive reinforcement. I know what it’s like to guide students through challenges, keep them motivated, and celebrate their progress, be it earning a new belt in karate or an “A” in maths.

Tutoring Approach

Every student has a unique learning style, so I personalize my teaching to suit each individual. I maintain a friendly, encouraging tone at all times – mistakes are treated as learning opportunities, and questions are always welcome. My goal is to build a comfortable learning environment where students aren’t afraid to speak up when they’re stuck. I also believe in consistent structure for lessons, as it helps students know what to expect and how to progress.
