I am 55 years old, Married with 3 grown up children. Hobbies include playing piano and riding motorcycles. I am a professional teacher and examiner of 20 years.

Tutoring Experience

Head of department for ICT / Computer Science and Economics at GCSE and A level for last 20 years. Taught A level business for 4 years In a previous school. Taught business and ICT at KS3 level 4 years. Worked as GSCE examiner for ICT and Business and more recently as IB course work and paper 1 examiner. I am an experienced teacher, leader and examiner of twenty years.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that learning will only be successful if the student is relaxed and comfortable. To that end I work hard to create positive, trusting relationships where students can dare to push themselves. I like to use technology where possible so that I can focus on the development of higher skills of analysis and evaluation. Much of my teaching has been informed by my work as an examiner. There really is no substitute for knowing your curriculum well. I would like to offer the unique service of travelling to students to teach in their own homes.
