I am passionate about helping young people reach their full potential. I have been working with children and teenagers for almost 20 years in environments including teaching in both state and private secondary schools, and teaching and coaching swimming. I am also privileged to be the parent of 3 children, which has given me another perspective on how young people tick, and I believe helped me to become a more effective teacher.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught in secondary schools for 7 years, including 3 years as Head of Mathematics at a successful Independent School. During this time I have taught Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Economics and Business Studies, all up to A Level standard.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that wherever possible, students should understand how their learning relates to the real world, as this helps them to keep motivated. As well as teaching, I have run my own businesses for the past 14 years and I find using real life examples of the subjects I am teaching helps students to develop a deeper understanding, and ensure that they retain the skills and knowledge from my lessons. I use multiple examples as part of my teaching, and take time to identify and rectify any gaps in students' knowledge.
