Tutoring Experience

32 years experience of teaching Chemistry and science in secondary schools. I have worked in both the private and public sectors. I taught abroad for a year but have spent the rest of my life in the UK. I have been Head of Chemistry for 20 years and have written and developed many courses over that time. I am most familiar with EDEXCEL, OCR and AQA courses though I have some IB and WJEC experience.I have tutored for over 20 years online, at home and visiting.

Tutoring Approach

My knowledge of the materials needed mean that I can work flexibly within a lesson. I really enjoy teaching Chemistry and will always try to make the subject interesting and memorable with life examples and humour. My students and tutees have progressed well and they often gain a grade or two through better understanding of material needed. My classes came top of Surrey two years running- I remain very pleased for them.
