Teaching is my passion, and I receive no greater joy than seeing a child learn something new. I am confident in my ability to deliver the Curriculum for Excellence, and I try to make my lessons as fun and engaging as possible. I can cover any area of the Curriculum for Excellence in order to support or reinforce a child's ability in school. I am flexible and punctual and will always come prepared for learning. I am a charismatic and easy going person by nature, and ensure that I create a positive relationship with any child, regardless of ability.
I am currently employed with a local authority, and at this time I am teaching across the school from P1 to P7. However, I have experience at all levels within a school. I have a Bachelors degree with honours from the University of Glasgow. I have also taught English as an additional language at a summer camp in Germany in 2015. I have taught children of all ages and abilities so far, from Primary 1-7. I have been teaching for 9 years and employ a variety of techniques and methodologies in my practice.
I am an easy going person and I believe the core to a successful lesson is having a positive relationship with children. I like to make my lessons fun, active, and engaging as to provide children with a light hearted session outside of school. I appreciate that children are learning all day in school, so I try to create an ethos of light work, with nothing too demanding. Children will receive constant feedback and will be given very concise next steps and feedback with every lesson, as to track their progress and to know where they will go next. I will always take the child's views into consideration when planning for the next lesson, as to ensure the child looks forward to their next session.
