I am an active Secondary School teacher with many years of experience in a teaching capacity. I have a real passion for languages which I am always eager to transmit to my students. I am fluent in Spanish and lived in Spain for a total of six years honing my skills. I also speak French to an advanced level.
Five years teaching Spanish and French up to A-level in a U.K. secondary school. A further five years working as an EFL teacher whilst living in Spain, teaching a range of learners from nursery age children to in-house language training for businesses.
Having been through the language-learning process myself, I can fully understand the challenges and difficulties faced on the journey. I also understand that, as with any undertaking, confidence is the key to progress, so I work on the basis of 'I do, we do, you do', leading pupils to the point where they have the confidence to apply the learnings independently. I also want my students to feel comfortable and at ease to express themselves freely in the target language without fear of making mistakes. Making mistakes is one of the most powerful learning opportunities when they are identified and corrected, but the mistakes need to be made in the first place so that they can be identified!
