I am a Physics graduate with experience in industry working mainly in IT and digital electronics. I have been a teacher for 19 years and was Head of Physics at a private school in the North East for six years.
I have now retired from full time teaching and am offering online Physics tuition using Zoom, Skype, and other communications tools.
I qualified as a teacher in 2003 and spent the next years teaching at a leading Academy in the North East of England. I then moved to take up the position as Head of Physics at Barnard Castle School. I have taught AQA GCSE Physics and CIE IGCSE Physics as well as both AQA A and Cambridge Pre-U and A-Level specifications. I have provided tuition to students studying all the domestic A Level Physics specifications.
I often find that those seeking tutorial help are experiencing some level of failure as they attempt their A-Level course. Therefore my approach to tutoring is to establish a warm, friendly relationship with my student. I then aim to build on this with the objective of growing their confidence in their abilities. Working together on problem solving helps us to cover the curriculum and to demonstrate to them that they can master the subject.
One of my students received hep throughout his sixth form course. He became so interested in the subject of Physics that he changed his plan to study Computer Science at University and is a Physics graduate. This student received online tuition using Skype. Now, three years later I am giving tuition to his sister.
