I am a fully qualified English and French teacher. I offer private tuition in French and English language at all levels up to and including GCSE.
I also offer private tuition in English as a Foreign Language (EFL.)
I am good at confidence building and helping with motivation and am a very enthusiastic tutor.
Recently I have returned to teaching and tutoring after working as a journalist in busy newsrooms and on magazines for many years. Nothing can beat the satisfaction of helping a student to believe in themselves and seeing their confidence grow as they gradually "get it" and the all light bulbs turn on.

Tutoring Approach

I believe all students are capable of succeeding. It is my firm belief that with focus, determination and self belief you can reach and exceed your aspirations.
• French - As I have gone through the process of learning French myself I know where the pitfalls and problem areas are for English speakers. I can help you to improve in the areas of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing in French - and help you to be ready and confident for your exams.
• English - I will help you to read, understand and evaluate a wide range of texts. You will also learn how to improve your writing skills, so that you write effectively and coherently using Standard English appropriately.
We can also work on your use of grammar and spelling and work to enrich and extend your vocabulary.
• English as a Foreign Language - sessions are fun and focus on improving your pronunciation, your speaking flow and your comprehension. I also show you ways to extend your vocabulary.
