Bonjour/Buongiorno/Hola! I'm Deborah. I've been working full time as a qualified modern foreign languages teacher in British secondary schools since 2003, and I have an up-to-date DBS certificate. I teach French and Italian up to GCSE level and beyond, and I can also teach primary/KS3/adult beginners Spanish and English as a Second Language. I have an excellent track record of results at KS3 and GCSE level.
I started learning French and German at the age of 11 years and took GCSEs in both languages. I soon developed a passion for languages, and after successfully passing my 'A' level in French, I went on to study French and Italian at degree level at Lancaster University. I was privileged to spend the third year of my degree living in the south-east of France, where I worked in French schools as an English Language Assistant. I have also worked as an Au Pair in northern Italy and spent another summer studying at a language school in Florence. I returned to the UK to finish the final year of my degree, and then made the decision to train as a teacher in 2003. Teaching has enabled me to spend the past 18 years sharing my passion for languages with children, both in person and online. Outside the classroom, I keep my languages up to date by travelling in countries where the languages are spoken, and by immersing myself in French and Italian culture within the UK.
All lessons are tailored to the individual child or adult. Please do not hesitate to get in touch to discuss your requirements.
