I am Delphine and come from Belgium. French is my native language. I am a dynamic, engaging, bubbly and patient teacher. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, art and crafts (I am also an Art teacher) and reading.
I studied child psychology and linguistics (Dutch and English) as a degree in Brussels. I then became a language coordinator in a private school for adults in Brussels. In 2018, I completed my PGCE in London, followed by my NQT in an Academy. I have been working as a French teacher for 5 years in both public and private schools. Alongside working, I am also studying a masters degree in Education. I have been teaching private one-to-one lessons for two years.
I mainly teach GCSE and A-level students, using French (my native language) as much as possible (from instructions to vocabulary explanations). I use games as a way to engage with younger learners, but also teach grammar to more advanced ones. I scaffold my lessons for students having difficulties with tricky topics and stretch the higher achievers accordingly. I also use past Mocks and GCSE exams to help students with exam techniques.
In London, I have worked for three years in an Academy, teaching students from year 7 to year 13. All my students in A level got grades from B to A* and in GCSE, all my students got a grade 6 or above. I then taught in a private school, offering lessons to both primary and secondary pupils.
I have worked with a range of textbooks such as Studio 1 & 2, Dynamo 1,2 & 3, Studio Edexcel for the GCSE and AQA for A level. I also mark exams using Pearson Edexcel exam board grade boundaries.
