I am an enthusiastic math teacher and is very passionate about my subject.
I love to see students enjoy and appreciate maths. As a member of the London Thames Maths Hubs, I have completed training and lesson studies in the applications of a problem solving approach to help students progress from KS3 to KS5. I hold a diploma and bachelors degree in mathematics and is in my 15th year of teaching.
I have been teaching math since 2005 to years 7 to 11 and to adult learners. I taught overseas for 10 years and am currently in my seventh year of teaching at an Academy in London.
I have experience in teaching 11+, SEN learners and schemes of work for AQA and Edexcel examination boards and the new 9-1 grading system.
I am also an examiner for AQA.
I love to take a guided discovery approach to learning and linking concepts to everyday life where applicable. This allows my learners to grow to appreciate the subject. With a positive mindset towards math and seeing how they can make connections, they become enthused rather than giving up.
I encourage my learners to be confident in their work and to employ a problem solving approach when faced with unstructured problems.
