I am a committed, enthusiastic and friendly tutor with 30 years teaching experience and up to date knowledge of teaching approaches, as well as the new curriculum, new SATs format and the new 9-1 GCSE.
Since qualifying as a teacher in 1992, I have taught in a variety of primary and secondary schools and have also worked as a maths advisor, providing in house training for teachers. I have a proven record of improving pupil achievement in maths, English and science.
I am fully committed to tutoring and receive many referrals from local schools - one has even employed me, using Pupil Premium funding to work 1-2-1 with selected students.
Although most of my students are local, I also work with with students in other parts of the country via on-line tuition.
In addition to preparing students for SATs and GCSEs, I can help those studying for functional skills qualifications and the QTS numeracy tests.
I am able to offer tailor-made tuition to meet individual pupil needs - whether supporting students who are struggling to keep up at school, developing confidence, aiming to improve performance or even to provide extension work. In most cases, our first lesson will take the form of an assessment of some kind as this helps me to understand the student's needs.
I offer in person tuition at Palgrave Community Centre on Thursday evenings during term time, as well as offering onine tuition using Zoom for video conferencing and Bitpaper for the online whiteboard.
