I'm Ed, and I have a PhD in Biomedical Science from King's College London. I am interested in human biology and physiology, particularly in ageing, exercise, and muscle fibre structure and function.
I am particularly experienced in tutoring biology, academic writing and essay skills.
I have completed over 200 hours of one-to-one tutoring as an academic skills tutor for King's College London undergraduate and postgraduate students. As an academic skills tutor, I have provided support with academic development, including academic writing, scientific writing, statistics, academic reading, dissertation support and lab reports.
I have four years of tutoring experience with The Brilliant Club (a UK non-profit organisation that works with the PhD community to support less advantage students to access the most competitive universities, and to succeed when they get there). This has involved tutoring KS3, KS4, KS5 pupils in person and online.
In addition to working as a tutor for the Brilliant Club for King's College London students, I have also privately tutored KS4 science and have worked as a graduate teaching assistant on the following modules/courses: BSc Biochemistry, Skeletal Muscle Structure and Function (MSc Human & Applied Physiology), Statistics, Genetics and Molecular Biology, Assessment of Fitness (BSc Physiology).
I like to run tutorials in an interactive style because think this is the most effective way to learn.
