Ed's Feedback

After having 12 sessions with Ed over the last 4 weeks, he has helped me feel confident going in to my university resit for an a-level chemistry module for my veterinary medicine degree. As only previously having GCSE level chemistry knowledge I found learning a condensed a-level spec in 2 months very challenging and failed my first sit, so decided I wanted to get a tutor before resits. His style of teaching really suited me, by talking through the concepts, providing clear analogies and supplying me with many practice questions. He was extremely flexible and we managed to get through a lot of content in a short time. With me being a university student, I was in a bit of a unique situation as I wasn't doing a typical a-level in chemistry, I had a condensed spec and didn't follow an exam board, this made revision a lot harder as we don't have past papers or an in depth specification. However, Ed took the time to look over what was relevant to me and helped focus on the most important bits, breaking down the time we had into structured lessons in order to cover what was needed. I have come away from our sessions with a deeper understanding of the concepts and have now been able to apply this knowledge to exam style questions and feel confident while answering them. I highly recommend Ed. Thank you very much.

My daughter worked with Ed during her final year of A level chemistry. They worked together to fill in any gaps in her knowledge She found him to be a skilled teacher, thoroughly understood her weaknesses and worked with her in a steady and consistent manner to ensure she did her best.

Ed provided just the right level of support for my daughter who had been very disappointed in her A2 Chemistry modules the previous year (C grade). He was punctual and reliable from January to June on a weekly basis. He certainly did not watch the clock and provided real value for money.
As a Senco in a Secondary school, I felt confident in his methodology and approach which tailored sessions to plug the gaps in understanding. My daughter went up 3 grades in the 2 modules that she resat and is off to her first choice red brick university to study chemical engineering. Having an opportunity to practise past papers and get 1-1 feedback boosted my daughter's confidence and now she is in a position to continue her education. I cannot recommend Ed highly enough.

Ed has supported my daughter through the transition from GCSE to A'level Chemistry and given her guidance and confidence to carry on to A2 chemistry. My daughter has achieved beyond her own expectations with Eds tuition. Ed has been able to give her advise around exam techique and revision as well as going over the subject matter she has been covering at sixth form. She moved from d grades in tests in October to A grades in tests in March.
I would without hesitation recommend Ed to other A'level students who are looking for a chemistry tutor.

The lessons were relaxed and were focussed towards the exam, I felt able to ask questions on what I did not understand and did not feel pressured when I did not know something. I found the set up of the lessons extremely helpful as it enabled me to learn how to approach the exam questions in a way to achieve higher marks.
