My name is Ed, I am an English native with a BA degree from the University of Bristol in Philosophy & French.
At present, I work at a global communications agency, working for some of the biggest french banking clients and asset managers alongside other EMEA based financial institutions focusing on corporate, financial and crisis communications.
I spent 8 months living in rural France working as an English Language Assistant in the Académie d’Orléans-Tours from 2021-2022. Whilst there, I
taught English in two primary schools. These lessons were taught in French.
During this year abroad, I also worked at Wall Street English Bourges, teaching French speaking adults English which required a strong grasp of communicating a different language in tangible terms.
At school I carried out German French and Spanish at GCSE level, in all of which I achieved an A* grade. In fact, I achieved A* grades across the board at GCSE level and in my A-Levels, I achieved two A* grades (one of which being in French) and an A in Biology.
I finished my degree at the University of Bristol with a 2:1 grade.
I aim to listen to the student's needs and formulate a plan to facilitate the achievement of their goals.
Open and honest communication is key with feedback from both the student and the tutor being vital for a positive relationship and success.
The approach may differ student to student depending on their goals however my values remain the same: respect; two-way communication; and active listening to ultimately achieve results.
