Eileen is an incredible, classics tutor who makes our lessons, both fun, enjoyable, educational and academic. Eileen is incredible, at filling in the gaps and the struggles I have faced with classics at school, due to not having a qualified Classics tutor at my school. Eileen’s lessons are interesting and enriching. Eileen has helped me through with her vast knowledge and exam materials. As well as her ability to nature, and help me with my writing style and technique - I had a tendency of going down rabbit holes and losing my argument. Eileen is a wonderful teacher who has made all material accessible to me and has never treated me differently for having a disability. Eileen was impeccable with assisting and advising me with my Oxford application, from advising and aiding me write my personal statement to preparation for the entrance examination and practising mock interviews. Her expertise were fundamental to me as a first generation university student. I am pleased to say I have secured place at the University of Oxford.
I could not of asked for a better classics tutor thank you for inspiring me motivating me and sharing your passion I am eternally grateful.

As with many subjects, the step jump between GCSE and A-level Latin is quite significant and left my daughter struggling to really understand some of the trickier grammar points for prose translation (English to Latin). Although my daughter has only had a few sessions with Eileen so far, she is already finding that Eileen's detailed, yet clear explanations and examples, are already resulting in some lightbulb moments over grammar points that she had, until now, not been able to grasp. I would strongly recommend Eileen - good Latin teachers can be so hard to find!!

Eileen has been very helpful to my daughter. Eileen helps my daughter with English GCSE; she is very patient and ensures that my daughter fully understands before moving on; and she has improved immensely.

Eileen is currently helping our son with Ancient Greek prior to sitting his GCSEs next month. Eileen is patient and enthusiastic and clearly knows her subject. We are so delighted to have found Eileen. She is supporting our son with A level Classics and English. He loves his subjects but has been crippled with anxiety and struggles to get organised due to ADHD. Eileen is engaging him in a way that is motivating his learning and we are confident that she is beginning to bring the best out in him. She is patient and encouraging, and quite obviously a master of her subjects. He comes away from each session with real enthusiasm.

My son has just achieved an A* in Classical Civilisation at A level and it's all down to Eileen! He lost most of year 12 with long Covid but in a few months Eileen managed to get through all the material for the lost year and more. She has a friendly and approachable teaching manner and they had great discussions together. He always came out of class inspired and enthusiastic. Eileen is a wonderful teacher - even tutoring him whilst she was on holiday! I thoroughly recommend Eileen and just wish we had found her earlier!

Eileen greatly helped me with my Latin GCSE, focusing on language. She enabled me to elevate my understanding of the text and improved translation skills by working through passages together. She is a great teacher and provides clear explanations and guidance, increasing my confidence in the subject. With her help I was able to reach the top grade in Latin GCSE. Thank you so much!

Eileen is absolutely brilliant! I approached her as a mature student, first to learn Latin and then to learn Ancient Greek. Her teaching is thoughtful, in-depth and always very encouraging. I also communicated to Eileen that I intended to apply to Oxford university. She offered excellent help throughout the entire application process, providing material for extra reading, helping prepare me for my entrance exam and advising on my personal statement. I have just had my offer from Oxford to start studying this year, absolutely delighted! I really feel that Eileen went above and beyond to help me achieve such an important goal and I am so grateful for her guidance and expertise. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Eileen is an outstanding tutor and we are so pleased to have found her.
